BEAVERCREEK-FEBRUARY 23, 2017 - Several of our Champaign County Schools and Individuals had earned their way to the OHSAA District bowling Tournament. For the Boys It was Graham and Urbana and for the Girls, Graham and Mechanicsburg. There were 4 Individuals that had earned their right as individuals Ladies from Urbana, West Liberty and Triad. At this level of competition, there is no opportunity to have a bad day. After the first 3 games of regular bowling, Urbana boys were on top by over 100 pins with Graham holding the 3rd spot and Mechanicsburg standing 8th. with only 4 teams advancing. On the Girls side Mechanicsburg standing 2nd and Graham just outside the cut at 4th with only 3 teams advancing at the break. They bowled 6 games of "Baker" bowling and when the smoke cleared, Urbana Boys took the District title home with a 3926 pin count. Almost 300 pins over 2nd place and Graham holding onto 3rd place with a pin count of 3495 and Both teams advancing to the dance in Columbus. Mechanicsburg finished there season with an 8th place showing. On the Girls side, Mechanicsburg Girls Will advance to Columbus by placing 2nd with a pin count of 3329. Graham girls just missed the cut and placed 5th. As individuals, Several members made the All District team, but if they advance with their teams, they can not advance as an individual. On the Boys side, Andru Troyer from Urbana rolled his way to a District Medalist with a 651 series and placed 1st overall. Those named to the all District team from the Boys dies Andru Troyer (u) Taylor Armstrong (U) Luc Russell (U) and Brady Oder (G). From the Ladies Side, Triads Madison Dolby rolled a 591 and Qualified as an Individual to move on the Columbus. Bowlers named to the all district team Madison Dolby (T) Ally Hosier (M) and Kayla Evans (U). Other Individuals who bowled as Individuals at the Tournament were Kayla Evans(U) placed 7th, just missing out on the cut to advance. Sarrah Baldwin (U) place 18th and Erica McCall placing 31st out of 105 bowlers. The State Tournament will be held Saturday March 3rd & 4th, 2017 at the Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl. Division II Girls: Friday March 3, 2017 and Division II Boys: Saturday March 4, 2017.
